Pinn Medical Centre

Been a patient for around 6 months after leaving the Mountwood practice.Vast improvement, never had to wait longer than 5 mins past my actual appointment time (at Mountwood this averaged around 20-30 mins, and that's in an empty waiting room!)) and as a walk in, the longest i've had to wait is an hour.Only problem is getting through on the phone to make an appointment, and quite often you have to wait weeks to get in to see your GP, but in my experience every GP's surgery is the same in this regard

I visited the centre a few weeks ago for an echo, ECG and to have a 24hr Holter monitor fitted. There was virtually no delay and the staff were terrific, in particular, Priscilla, who fitted my Holter monitor. What a wonderful, friendly, kind and interesting lady - thank you so much!

Simpson House Medical Centre

Simpson House, 255B Eastcote Ln, Harrow HA2 8RS, UK – 020 8864 3466

I love this service. It clearly sees a lot of people and I think they handle that well. I book online and can get an appointment on the same day. I've seen some of the best doctors I've ever seen here. Janet is the lady on reception who puts everyone at ease, she can make you feel like she's known you 10 years! I've seen her have to be very assertive and I think she does an excellent job!

Have been using this surgery for 32 years. There are 7 GPs here. Service is good. Many experienced doctors have retired. Some good doctors with many years' experience are still there. There are several new doctors too. GPs are under much strain these days with just 10 minutes per patient being allowed. From their latest Practice Brochure it's clear that not one GP works more than 8 sessions a week--10 sessions being a full week. Ten sessions might make a doctor ill. Big problem nowadays is getting an appointment. It is now possible to book appointments online, but this is not suitable for emergencies--it's ok if you want one in a few days' time. The one big improvement they have made is to have a call queuing system for booking appointments on the day. They say there is an automated appointment booking system over the phone, but I have tried it several times recently and it doesn't work. If you are a diabetic, you want a good diabetes management service. At one time they had a good diabetes service. It then went downhill and now seems to be improving, but it can be better. Repeat prescriptions can be requested online. Prescriptions can also be electronically sent to Kings Pharmacy, which is 65 metres away. For blood tests you would be sent to Roxbourne Medical Centre, which is 1 kilometre away or Northwick Park Hospital, which is about 5 kilometres away to give a sample.

The new NHS website below is very well worth a look. Hospitals are not only listed but evaluated. I certainly know which ones I would go to! At the very least you will know what questions to ask if you are sent to one which has not entered its data. Good luck!
